Congratulations to Dr Md Arifuzzaman from  Bangladesh Center for Ilizarov surgery family for being elected as secratary of ASAMI Bangladesh. 

The 10th Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the ASAMI (Association for the Study and Application of the Methods of Ilizarov) Bangladesh Chapter was successfully held on 20 and 21 December 2025 at the Military Museum Auditorium, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.

The conference was presided over by Dr. Nazmul Huda Shetu, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of ASAMI Bangladesh Conference 2025. The inaugural session was formally opened by Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kenan, Honorable Director of the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) and Convener of the Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society.

Senior orthopaedic surgeons, academicians, and specialist physicians from different parts of the country participated in the two-day conference. More than 50 scientific papers were presented and discussed in various scientific sessions. On the second day, a special hands-on workshop was organized for 40 selected doctors to provide practical training.

On the second day of the conference, at 3:00 PM on 21 December, the Annual General Meeting was held under the chairmanship of the founding president of the society and legendary Ilizarov surgeon Professor Dr. Md. Mufakkharul Bari. By unanimous decision, a new 18-member Executive Committee was formed for the 2026–2027 term. Dr. Nazmul Huda Shetu was elected President, Dr. Md. Arifuzzaman as Secretary, and Dr. Md. Sahidur Rahman Khan as Treasurer.

It is noteworthy that the ASAMI Bangladesh Chapter is a professional organization dedicated to providing modern and effective treatment for complex and difficult bone fractures and musculoskeletal conditions through the Ilizarov method, and continues to work relentlessly to advance orthopaedic care in Bangladesh.
